Quick Trip to Boise

The boys and I decided to drive up to Boise and visit Jared, Trina and boys for a few days while Erik was at Scout Camp. I was a little worried about making the drive by myself, but it was great. Jaxson sat in the middle and handed out food and changed the DVDs. Spencer hardly made a sound. We had a wonderful visit. The kids got to swim, play at parks and dig in the sand at the Boise River. What more could we ask for!

Happy 4th of July!

June 2008

June seems to have come and gone. Our computer has been down, so I am adding a few pictures from the whole month. We had a fun graduation party for Dallin and the other kids who did Joy School with us this year. We are so proud of him, and he can't wait to start preschool next fall with Nana Sue!

June is a big month in our family for birthdays. We always have a good time celebrating Erik, his Dad and Isaac's birthday on the same day. We missed having Isaac this year! Erik didn't have an especially fun birthday. He threw his back out at Fathers and Sons and spent the day hobbling around using a cane. We love him anyway (even when he walks like a little old man!)

We are excited to welcome a new cousin this month. Baby Aiden Tadje joined our family on June (Friday) 13th. We are so happy for Nate and Sarah, and think he is adorable!

We had a fun trip to Hogle Zoo with Grandma Bowen and Sammie. The boys especially loved the new merry-go-round and the bird show.

Our ward had a field trip up to Cascade Springs. We took a sack lunch and had a great time.
The kid's favorite part was playing in the river and catching snakes and frogs. I had to post this picture of a frog they caught. As you can see, he was pretty fast and I'm a terrible photographer!

Jaxson had the Pinewood Derby this month. His didn't win, but we had a fun time working on his car. It was the Silver Bullet!

We have been talking about riding our bikes on the Provo River trail for so long, we finally did it this past weekend. Kellie and Mack came with us and we had a wonderful time. It is a beautiful trail and shady most of the time. The only problem was when we stopped to have a snack, the mesquites swarmed us. Next time we go we will bring lots of bug spray.

Happy Birthday Jaxson

We celebrated Jaxson's 9th birthday on the 25th. He is such and amazing kid and we are so proud of him! He is a wonderful big brother to the boys and a great example to them. We had a fun party at Grandma Bowen's house on Sunday. He got a new tennis racket and lots of frisbies. We gave him something called a rip-stick. I have video of him riding it, but I guess I never got a picture. He thinks it is so cool, but I'm a little worried about broken wrists.

My Grandma Bowen just moved to Alpine, and we are luky to have her so close. She was able to come to Jaxson's party for a few minutes.

This was Jaxson's year to have a family party so

we decided to take him to a Blaze game. Matt and Katie and their girls, my parents, and Nate and Sarah came with us. We had never seen an indoor football game, so we were a little confused, but it was actually pretty fun. The boys did surprisingly well, but because of a diaper incident we didn't get to see the end of the game. We listened to it on the radio, and it turned out to be an amazing ending. The Blaze won by 3 with a last second field goal.

Favorite Time of Year

I love every season, but for some reason I think now is my absolute favorite. We finally have leaves back on the trees, the grass is green again, and many of our bushes are in bloom. It is so fun to finally be able to plant flowers and get some color back in our yard. We have a lilac bush out in front of our house that is amazing this time of year. The last few years it has been cut back by different workmen, but this year we finally have flowers. They are starting to die off , but it is sure amazing for a few weeks.

We are finally finished with soccer. The boys had a great time playing, but we are happy to have our Saturdays back.

Kate's Big Day!

It is such a wonderful time for our family.

Katie left into the MTC this morning. We are so excited for her and know she will be an amazing missionary! She works so hard at everything she does, and we know that serving the Lord will be no different. It is hard not to be a little sad that we won't see her for 18 months, but she is setting such a great example for our boys. They are already talking about when they can go on their missions like Aunt Katie.

Baseball, Soccer and More Baseball

I have offically become a soccer mom. It has been a crazy year having two boys in two different sports at the same time. I can't imagine what it will be like when our other boys join in. It seems like every night we are either at a game or dropping someone off at a practice. It is fun watching them play though, and Spencer and Dallin are pretty good at sitting through game after game. I can't believe how excited I was tonight, however, for rain. We actually got to stay home tonight and eat dinner as a family!
