Sleeping Beauty

I love to watch babies sleep. Emma was having a nap yesterday, and I had to post some of her sweet faces. It has been so much fun having her home. The boys have to know where she is at all times, especially Spencer. As long as he can see her and she is happy, he can go about life as usual. He gets very concerned when she is crying and wants to give her things to make her better. She is going to be well looked after!

Emma Jane

We are so happy to welcome Emma Jane to our family. She arrived after a long wait to be induced, but came quickly once we got everything going at the hospital. She weighed a whopping 9 lbs. 2 oz. (bigger than all of our boys!) She has been such a sweet heart. The first day she slept most of the day, but by day two she was wide awake. The nurse came in and told us that she did not pass her hearing test because she was making too much noise. They came and tried later, and even had her asleep, but as soon as they got the probe near her ear she started screaming. The nurse told us it sounded like she was scolding them. I think she is ready to hold her own in this family of boys! We are so excited to have her home and are ready to experience this new world of girls.

Happy Easter

We had such a great Easter holiday! Monday night we painted Easter eggs for Family Home Evening. I forgot to buy a kit, so we were creative and used paints that we already had. The kids did a great job and had more fun painting and rolling the eggs in the different colors than we ever have dipping them in dye.

The Easter bunny came Friday night , so Saturday morning the boys woke up and had their egg hunt. They each got a new pair of crocks. I am so glad that Spencer will wear his and can now get his shoes on himself! On Easter Sunday, my mom and dad had an egg hunt for the boys. They had so much fun, and all the eggs were filled with change (so exciting!) They also got new Frisbees and bubbles. They were so excited and could hardly wait to go home and count their money.

We finished off the day with a visit from Grandma and Grandpa Tadje and Aaron, Samantha, and Lydia. The boys were so excited to read stories with grandma and play with Lydia. (They are gearing up for a little sister!) We love this time of year!

The Yurt

Last weekend Erik took the three older boys up to Idaho to visit Jared and Trina. Jared's partner owns a yurt a few hours away from their house, so they all went and had a few fun days in the snow. They had a wonderful time!
This is the yurt from outside. The boys hanging out inside the yurt.

Cameron and (I think) Drew ready to ride the snowmobiles.

There were a few (minor) accidents throughout the day. Jaxson (below) crashed and got a fat lip and bloody nose. I don't know if you can tell in the picture, but he was pretty excited to come home and show me his battle wounds.

Erik and Jared took the boys out on a sleigh ride to see a heard of elk. There were hundreds of them, and they surrounded the sleigh. Jaxson was so excited to have his camera, he took almost 50 pictures. He was very excited to show me every one!

Dallin was very excited to tell me all about how he saw so many elk.

Thanks Jared and Trina for hosting our boys! They had a fantastic time, and we can't wait to do it again.
